About The Artwork

In the majestic Rhodope mountain in Eastern Europe there is a very special village called Trigrad ( three breasts ). Name comes from the three hills of the village but also it is connected to the ancient The Bacchae and Dionysus myth. It is a very special place with high rocks, small road and beautiful pine trees.

My interest in art started early. The biggest influencers of my work are the impressionists: Monet, Cezanne, Renoir. I am also inspired by the Van Gogh and Gogen's palette. I am a self-taught artist. As a kid I was painting in the attic and my father was helping me to prime fabric and make homemade canvases. In the 80s, it was very difficult to find information how to do that and we were experimenting. For good or bad i grew up in Communist country and then there was only one kind of paint and it was very expensive. So i was suffering from lack of finances, materials and information. But I was passionate, full of ideas and inspiration. My parents have supported me endlessly. They got in contact with some professional artists and brought me to their ateliers, so I can "steal" techniques and subtleties. During all family trips and holidays i was thinking only about paint the landscapes. I was obsessed by painting. 30 years later I still feel the same :) As an Artist, I believe in changing the way one sees the landscape by using the power and vitality of Painting. I am working with layers of oil paint, using mostly spatula. To me, painting is a heartbeat, love, perception, impetus, state, mood, experience, at times spontaneous, but always created with an open soul. My artworks are born by the interaction between two worlds - the one inside us and the one outside. TO ME INSPIRATION COMES FROM THE NATURE BUT IDEAS COME OUT THROUGH THE PROCESS OF CREATING. I try to be absolutely honest with myself, I try to be independent from what people like and need to see. I assume my superpower as an artist is my sense of color. Since 2018 I have run my pop up galleries and ateliers in different no-rented locations in Sofia, Bulgaria. I am visible, open to communicate and share, I have the ability to build bridges between people. My artworks could be found in a private collections all over the world: USA, Canada, UK, The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Austria, South Africa, Russia, Dubai, etc. My works were exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe, USA and Hawaii.
