VIEW IN MY ROOM
Cosmic Koi is about significance. I recently visited the Byodo temple in Oahu. They had a river teeming with all kinds of koi. Their beauty and grace struck me much as the ceremonial bell’s toll. In the grand scheme of things, perhaps a fish isn’t such a significant thing, but its loveliness resonates. I hope I captured the elegance of this creature. The sentiment I hope to evoke can be found in one of my favorite quotes, “[t]o the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” ~Dr. Suess. ~*~ This piece has not sold yet but is being placed on hold for a show I have in the fall. I will sell it under the stipulation that it be available for my show. The curator will place a placard with it that says it was donated to the show from your (and your name will be given) private collection or, if you prefer, it can say an anonymous collection. The show will be over November 1st, '15. You may message me if you are interested in purchasing this original painting and then I will update this to show it is actually sold. ~*~ Original's price: $250.00

See something you like but want to change something about it? No problem! I take custom requests. I charge per square inch so pricing is determined by you and what you're looking for. Message me for details. I use bright colors because I study life and life, when you really think about it, is not subtle. I enjoy studying the intricacies of the way light plays on a subject, where it bounces directly, where it reflects, and work to freely express those discoveries. I believe that art is an expression of one's soul. The idea that something I created called to another person is incredible. Thinking about having pieces of my work, my life, my very essence, out and about around the world, makes me giddy. My favorite quote of all time is Leonardo da Vinci's "Learn how to SEE. Realize that everything is connected to everything else." It's this connection that I'm forever contemplating and exploring.
