ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I began, as I do with a lot of my work, with just applying color to the ground, then dripping paint on the canvas. I keep looking for something to emerge. At one point, I saw a horse appear, then started pulling it out with the rider as well. It did indeed feel like a spirit quest. The colors are quite bright, and I wanted to express the young Native American experiencing a super natural event.
