About The Artwork
Spring in the Western Cape of South Africa is a most spectacular time of the year. My husband and I have travelled to some of the most beautiful places in the world but there is nothing more beautiful than the Western Coast of South Africa in the spring. From Cape Town to Namibia the whole Western Cape turn into an unbelievable, vibrant patchwork of colour. We both agree that this holiday - relatively short, as the flowering season is from mid August to min September - was the best holiday we have ever experience. The colours may be slightly exaggerated but the real life experience is every bit as captivating.

I have tried many different art forms over the years including pottery, stained-glass, photography and many others. Since retiring from a career as a school librarian some years ago I have been privileged to enjoy experimenting with acrylics and various materials and textures and am always game to try something new or different. My experimenting techniques have lead to some interesting effects but have included the odd disaster that has literally gone up in flames. I have a great love for all of Gods creation but particularly for Africa, its people and wildlife and have tried to interpret this in my personal expression of artwork. I was born in East London South Africa in 1953 and moved to Durban some 25 years ago. I am a proud wife, mother of 2 & grandmother with 4 delightful grandchildren
