Squatting sitting is an old russian gangsters' habit which originated from the condition that in prison they were not allowed to sit on a bed during daytime therefore forced to sit squatting to give legs some rest. This became the trademark of soviet prison community recognizable by anybody who is remotely familiar with the history.
