Regarding the materials and techniques used, I selected a beech board and canvas combination capable of accommodating substantial pressure while minimizing unwanted bending or sagging. For this piece, I began with a monochromatic underpainting, slowly adding subsequent layers of thick pigments and delicate glazing until the lightest hues reflected the sparkling sunlight on the water's surface.
