Stained Glass Print

Born on the banks of the Bayou Tech in New Iberia LA, raised in a suburb of New Orleans, and spent most of my childhood and teens in the bayous, swamps and woodlands that surround New Orleans. I currently reside in Slidell LA, approximately 17 miles north of New Orleans. A natural artist from a young age, sketching, carving, creating with anything I could get my hands on. No formal training other than a high school course or two (jewelry making and pottery). After years of pencil, ink and multi media sculpting, I turned my attention to the brush. Influenced by Mucha; the Impressionists; Krasner and Pollack, I sometimes find the lines dividing art nouveau, impressionism and abstract, encroaching on each other. I love nature and the natural curve. I paint with acrylics on canvases, with brush, sponge and soft blade, occasionally liquefying the colors, to pour on with small bowls. My ideas grip me like a fever, something that needs to be "fleshed out", to be expressed, to free me from a compulsion.....for a while.
