About The Artwork
Oil and acrylic painting with gold leaf accents on flat canvas board, dimensions 19.7x23.7 inches (50x60cm) Painting has unpainted white canvas surfaces, I like the effect of paint strokes developing in the painting, the contrast between this "raw" whiteness and colors of paint. Overall it is clearly undone, but when I look at this painting I can feel something it is hard to describe - just decided to leave it like that, just couldn't resist myself from that. She just looks like she's staring at you. Also the signs on the right were painted as a free expression, supposed to be some kind of decorative pattern, but ended up like some oriental inscriptions, so I decided to add gold leaf accents and little blue square at the upper right corner, which reminds those little red signature squares on asian artworks - so this is like a reverse.
