Suburban Solstice Print

Two works closely belonging together by time and place of their content (Reykjavik 2006), but by size and material (canvas on stretcher frame), too. An intense stay in Iceland in the time of summer solstice left deep imprints of light nights awake and long city walks at what could have been morning, evening, or any time. The two almost prosaic works down-to-earthly notate what I keep inwardly seeing when I recollect the visuality of Reykjavik midsummer. But see yourself, how strangely, wonderfully they evoke all that is left unseen. The single 80×80-cm-panels are a “Suburban Morning Walk” from Northern Reykjavik, and the “Room with a View” from my place in Eiriksgata, Reykjavik 101. An unobtrusive work to remember and to imagine. Both, side-by-side and face-to-face hanging of the panels is fine.
