Sunny Skies Stormy Seas is from a style of painting I refer to as primitive. These are very quiet paintings but they have an undertone of emotion and intensity. A mixed media piece scratched back to the underlying canvas to reveal the hidden colour beneath. This work is an abstraction of the view of the Singapore Straits across to Indonesia. The weather is often so changeable yet you always see small boats jetting about as the sun starts to set and the sky opens up to a stream of subtle colour shifts.
