Modern civilization has become extremely progressive in terms of technology and with the current advancement, humans have become extremely dependent on it. My work here deals with how with advancing technology we deceive ourselves and people around us through various projections. Everything is available on tips of our finger with the help of one black screen in our hands, from ordering food online to reserving your tickets and most of all video calling which gives us an illusion that we are just a screen away. Because of the impact of technology our mind accepts that illusion as a reality. This particular projection from the black rectangular device has becomes a crucial element in distorting the reality of individuals. In life too, humans use projections to show contradictory behavioural patterns to match the judgements of the society. The real behaviour and realisation of existence is very personal and different for an individual with respect to what it showcases. The impact of projection on the viewer is totally dependent upon the creator projector (the source of light) itself because here it doesn’t matter how the viewer takes it but how the creator wants to show it to the world. Creator has different views and experiences about the projections it portrays but viewers get tricked by its own understanding and comes to a conclusion which is justifies their own thoughts. Therefore, everyone possesses a thin blanket which assists them in shielding their real thoughts, memories, experiences and the true self. I chose the particular media like oil and acrylic because of their colour intensity.
