The portrait of one of the most important Japanese artists: Takashi Murakami is part of a series of portraits by contemporary artists included in an exhibition. The exhibition in question entitled "Contemporanei Sognatori" is a solo show of about 90 paintings, which I created by exhibiting them, by invitation, at the Bracci Pagani museum system in Fano Italy between December 2021 and January 2022. Murakami has often been called a pop artist and compared to Andy Warhol for being openly inspired by mass culture. In fact, references to the iconography of anime and manga are evident in his works. Without denying the interest in Warhol's and Jeff Koons' activities, the artist has claimed his cultural autonomy, and declared that his aesthetic references are essentially linked to contemporary Japanese pop culture. The painting was made with a mixture of acrylic and digital, on a base called Communication, which is nothing more than a lighter variant of Forex. I also included some elements of the artist's own works that combined with the elements painted by me. Once printed, I retouched the whole to make it more uniform. The "Mickey Mouse ears" are in relief and are drawn from two graphic elements by the artist. I want to emphasize that even if the work is printed, it is and remains a unique work. Born in Italy in Marche region, after many year of life in Milano. I attended the art high school and the Book art school in Urbino, with a cartoon focus. I worked in the Bozzetto studio as an animator, artistic director and director. I participated, as a character creator, in the film “Allegro Non Troppo”. I have collaborated on some Enzo D’Alò films in Lanterna Magica. Later I had my own production company. (Motusfilm) I have been an illustrator and author of children's books and the author of several animated short films awarded at various national and international festivals. I currently riturn to live in the Marche region .Here I work on portraits, and I paint personal interpretations of the human figure and portrait, two and three dimensional, with mixed techniques ranging from clay, digital, acrylic, photocopy, papier-mâché. Why the portraits? Because I'm curious about human nature. In the last exhibition I exhibited more than 50 plates of portraits of contemporary artists, where I not only show the face of the artist, but also his art that mixes and intertwines with my work, that is, I adapt to his style, and his style is adapted to my composition, sometimes even leaving out the verisimilitude, to give more space to what I perceive of that artist. From an early age I enjoyed drawing and coloring, and this propensity has never abandoned me, on the contrary it has been further increased by the artistic direction of the various schools I attended. In my works there is everything that I absorbed in the place of my childhood, that is: the masks, the carnival, the allegorical float, which were and still are a moment of happiness and joy and, especially my thirty-year profession as a cartoonist.
