Temple in Moonlight Print

This is a mixed media painting on canvas panel. It is created using acrylic paint, painted paper and colored paper. Most of my mixed media/collage works are escapist in nature and are abstracted imagined landscapes. Aside from the visceral nature of the medium, the inspiration for them comes from many sources ranging from archeological finds, historical places and events to places imagined from our distant past. This particular piece "Temple in Moonlight" is my interpretation of an imagined event. An ancient temple bathed in moonlight with a lone figure moving through the grounds. It is a generalization of an event with a few specific motifs (temple, moon, figure) to help guide the viewer as they write their own narrative.
