The Emergence of Intuition Print

The Emergence of Intuition is about taking the time to unearth new layers of understanding. Long midnight walk, a still small voice, the answers I need. As the artist, I am as fascinated by what you experience in this piece, as what you think I put into it. This piece is inspired by moments of clarity, a form of inner guidance that can be nurtured. Many of us are familiar with the experience of, for no apparent reason, suddenly getting a nudge, an intuition, a knowing, an answer to a question that sometimes we didn’t even know we had been asking. Often, when I am craving to be by the sea, I go for a walk in the Cotswold hills. In my early days of discerning anything like a spiritual path, I used to love walking at dusk. One of my favourite qualities of light and colour is that deep deep blue that you can almost feel on your skin before it turns to blackness. In this painting, those deep blues extend downwards to the nurturing viridian green hues of the hillside. The figure in this piece, is taking such a walk, the source of intuition is depicted as a moving flurry of light beneath the horizon. My intention and prayer in creating this artwork is that anyone who owns it will be continually nudged toward receptive insights, to a more profound knowing that deep intuition is an enlivening source of intelligence, that greatly enriches our experience of life.
