About The Artwork

I love architecture, who couldn't when you live in Barcelona, surrounded by it day in and day out. I began this art with structure, lines, straight images, and then I allowed it to become it's own work. My imagination is so creative and busy, that I feel it takes over my hands. This began with an idea that I wanted clean and simple, but I needed it to speak volumes, to shout out. "The Escalator" drew itself. It evolved in my own mind when the form started to take shape. The busy shopping centre was already there, the roads and highways, I just needed to tip it over the edge to show what I already saw. The people, the crowds, the movement of "The Escalator". My father was a great architect, and we both use our left and right side of our brains, which is why I think I continue to bring architecture into my paintings, adding a modern twist the minamalistic figures and white lines. I often look up, and this is where I see structure of ceilings. Beams of metal, hence the beams you see here which turned into Escalators. I enjoyed creating this piece of art, and hope you do to.

Being so creative can be exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. I live with a constant noise in my head. I see everything and turn it into art in my minds eye. My artworks are created with a great deal of passion and thought. I use both sides of my brain, and being the daughter of an architect and painter, I am proud to say, I have inherited these traits. From the very tender age of 4, I made mud huts. I sold my first work of art at 12. My last artwork I gifted to the Jersey, Durrell Wildlife Conservation, to raise funds for the Silverback Gorilla's. My water color artwork of a Silverback Gorilla raised £6000.00 for the charity. I love giving, especially to those who take care of our animal species. I am an African at heart. I grew up walking with the elephants, avoiding the crocodiles whilst fishing in the Zambezi. Waterskied in the lakes amongst the fishes and water snakes. Spent endless weeks and holidays in the safari parks watching and photographing nature, including the big 5. I am a passionate photographer and naturist. Having now left this all behind. like a chameleon, I am adapting my art to my surroundings, the magnificent architecture of Barcelona. Every day I look up to see the beauty in the design and masonry work. The architecture and carpentry. It inspires me now to begin creating new art. This City will be now be my reference for the future as I begin this new chapter in my life. Welcome to my art and Barcelona.
