Several artworks inspired this : Bosch, Picasso ( Guernica specifically - a skull/head at base is direct reference ) ; Sam peckinpah movies, Willem de Kooning's "Attic " painting .. those are just some as well as vintage pornography films and orgies generally and the more crudely considerd style of some types of cartoons ..It's thick , gooey oil paint , dripping and oozing downwards like a sweaty scene seen through a window obliterating partially some figures, an abstract veil up close of texture and smears and pitted congealed surface ..There's some stereotypical scenes of lust , a skull pops up alongside crudely , deliberately scrawled references to human anatomy and people morphing into parodies of cocks or bums .. splayed open legs like squashed frogs .. colour is embedded in thick spurted out lines straight from the tube .pink and yellow buried under the cream and dark .. a mixture of deep ultramarine & oxides .... It's a frenzy, an orgy , it's hedonism and stupidity all rolled into one .Oil on linen ; aluminium stretcher frame . Signed, titled & dated on reverse
