About The Artwork

"The Garden" utilizes vibrant colors interwoven with stories and themes. The artwork's message will manifest for each viewer as it gains access to the subconscious, stirring emotions within each individual. There is a universal language within my art - one without words that explores the darker sides of our nature. "The Garden" speaks to everyone who spends time with it, unfolding unique and layered stories with each gaze.

Eric Demski Eric Demski (°1970, Fort Mill, United States) creates mixed media artworks, paintings, photos, digital media, and drawings. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, Demski wants to amplify the astonishment of the spectator by creating compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images that leave traces and balances on the edge of recognition and alienation. His vibrant colored mixed media artworks directly respond to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences from the artist as a starting point. He interweaves myths and universal stories lying dormant in our subconscious, and often these are framed instances that would go unnoticed in their original context. With a conceptual method, he approaches a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered style that involves the viewer physically, spiritually, and emotionally. He takes us on a darker, more truthful journey, unafraid to explore haunting thoughts and concepts combined with dangling remnants of hope and light. His works are dreamlike with a stained glass appearance in which fiction and reality meet; well-known tropes merge; meanings shift, and past and present fuse. Time and memory always play a key role. By applying abstraction, intensely personal moments are masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles. His works intentionally avoid recognizable forms. When deconstructed and viewed repeatedly, meaning shifts and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted.
