Inspired by the Goddess Yemaya Known as Mother of the Sea, the lady of Rain, the Creator Mother, she is one of the Seven African Powers, the well-respected Gods of the Yoruban pantheon. Her name (Yey Omo Eja) means “Mother whose Children are the Fish” and expresses her direct association with the sea. I see this piece as a symbol of self nurturing, hence the title 'The Healer'.

Alison Mary Dunn, born in Glasgow, Scotland - A former student of The Glasgow School of Art where she studied Fine Art. "My work has always had a spiritual element to it. I often paint from feeling as apposed to true representation." There is an energy to Alison's paintings, where darkness and light create a feeling of movement and atmosphere, translating into images of hope, inner peace and sensuality, engaging the viewer on a deeper level.
