About The Artwork

The Host being eaten alive by parasites similar to my dog before being defleaed. The look on the face says it all. Playing around with the outter shape, adding another layer to the painting.

I am an artist currently based in London with a background in screen printing. What I like about oil paint is the freedom of movement and the flow and vibrancy of the colour. I would describe what I create as a thought or the result of an action. The beauty and complexity of both the urban and natural environment from life outside to life inside. On occasions my paintings may take a somewhat satirical or humorous view from observations throughout the day to social issues. It's a result of how the system, the mind and belief can easily manipulate and numb the senses to gain control causing a loss of identity. My art also comes through reflection and introspection of the self, freedom of the mind, the escape of the circle of pointlessness and being conscious of the existence and harm of the pattern. It's a way to challenge my perception of reality and the society we live in. Lately my art seems to have been stripped back to its more primordial roots. Creation at its rawest form. That first thought without the corruption of over thought no matter the outcome. A letting go of preconceived patterns and ideas/ideals and a total surrender to that single moment. Opening my eyes and mind to the realization that inspiration is all around me whether something permanent or temporary and using that, as seen.
