About The Artwork

This artwork is 1 part of a 2 part series. The first art piece was composed by me in 2013, titled as Inner Eye - I. The depiction was of an embryo like form, cocooned in its natural environment, calm & at peace, sort of like an inner eye to the soul. . That art piece was a small representation, which gave birth to this artwork made in 2014, my biggest one till now. This artwork is ideal for a large lobby in a residence or hotel, as due to its large size, it becomes a focal point, rather a conversation starter in any interior design space. This should invite a feeling of calm & deep thought when viewed. My works are usually inspired by my nature walks & travels. I love to observe my surroundings & the limitless beauty of nature. Hence my palette usually includes colours such as greens, ochre, crimson, deep browns. The visual depth in this piece is created by the contrasts of indigo & green. The style of this piece is fluid with no specific form. I intend to transport my viewers to another sphere, when they view this piece.

I am a visual artist/ architect, in Singapore and originally from New Delhi (India). I have my art studios in both locations & I'm participating in exhibitions world wide. My mixed media works are made on canvas, paper, textile boards, wood, MDF panels. I work with various mediums such as pastels, fluid acrylics, water colours, gouache using techniques such as drawing, cyanotypes, collage, painting. I enjoy participating at art workshops to learn new techniques. and have completed 2 part time art courses at The Lasalle college of arts , Singapore. Nature & my travels keep me motivated & inspired. Long walks in the lush national parks in Singapore help me to connect with my inner thoughts & give me more clarity in my artistic vision. Reiki Mediation is a part of my daily routine which also helps me to focus. My themes are usually centred around the balance between nature & man, depicting fantastical settings & beings. My colour palette is usually bright & I'm the happiest to use my favourite medium chalk pastels. I constantly try to evolve my creative process, as I find it thrilling to experiment with new styles. Bold images with a subtle context is my preferred choice of depiction. Having studied & practiced architecture, I'm greatly influenced by my surroundings, such as buildings, landscapes & I enjoy observing the balance with which city layouts are planned. I believe in the current times of climate change, nature must be nourished to thrive as mankind needs the solace & comfort from Mother Nature more than ever. I have recently launched a coffee table art book titled " Unmasking the Spiritual Self" at the Singapore National Library . The book features 129 of my over 300 artworks , divided into 7 genres of human emotions depicting spiritual transition. I'm also pursuing a climate change fellowship program with an arts organisation based in UK. This project has enhanced my learning about environmental issues.
