The Marasa Print

I'm a painter who will incessantly pursue the vortex of what I deem "sensible non-sense". I have no formal "art education" except for a few uninspired and non-innovative classes, coupled with my heaven-sent curiosity for art history. The orderly yet mystical syntax of ancient Egyptian and Chinese artifacts resonates with me greatly, and so I wish to give birth to my own hieroglyphic cultural experiment. I therefore implement a certain kind of unadulterated and automatic psychedelia in my work, as the otherwise cliche "mushroom trip" motifs irk me immensely. I abhor conceptual cleverness in art, but rather strive to replicate my own brand of immediately accessible "primitive pop". I like to imagine that my hieroglyphs be born out of a future dystopian technological cave. Painters I'm fond of greatly include: Robert Motherwell, Judy Chicago, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Joan Mitchell, Jonathon Lasker, Gustave Doré, Hieronymus Bosch, Leonara Carrington, etc.
