About The Artwork

There is a time when we all question our mortality, and as an artist I wondered how I would depict such feelings. The painting is about love loss, letting go, and trying to hold on to the spirit. The message from the departed is: "It's okay, we will be united again." So I went about using and unconventional process to express my thoughts on the subject. It is acrylic paint skin on canvas. Paint skin is dried acrylic paint that is applied to the canvas in large ribbons and creates a very heavy texture. Its is mounted to canvas and it is wired and ready to hang. The edges are painted. It is signed in the lower right corner and verso (on the back of the canvas).
