About The Artwork

I made the landscape painting on the coast on Fidalgo Island, Anacortes, near my home in the Pacific Northwest. Later, I added a stencil of my beloved bicycle that I have ridden for the past decade or more. The bicycle stencil was a huge leap into the unknown for me--I wasn't sure if I was ruining the painting or taking it to a new level. Fortunately, the limbs of the tree lined up with the bike, created a poetic synchronicity that I could never have planned. Sometimes the right path--the truly creative one--is simply the path of least resistance.
