The ruin of a deserted place once busy with activities life inspires this painting. The painting depicts a deserted location once thriving with life, with two tents in a state of decay and a pathway which leads to a village. This dilapidated tents remind me of Greeks and Romans ruins. Even though this abandoned tents lack the imposing, majestic grandeur of the ruin of a Roman amphitheater or a Greek temple. They stir the same emotion of awe and appreciation of the handiwork of nature and passage of time. Of how something left to rot turns out wonderful. At the same time the painting is significant as it a testament to the fact that one can find beauty in odd places or hope in an awful condition. The charm and the serene atmosphere of the place inspires and further motivate me to put this lovely wild untamed location on canvas.
