About The Artwork
A painting from my cardboard collection and also my painter paparazzi series (ongoing). I chose to use cardboard to paint on as well as the framing. There was time in North America that artists had to use whatever materials they could get, especially during wartime when. often canvas was hard to come by, and lack of money. It also acts as a symbol for recycling, and a metaphor for life as cycle of birth, death and then reincarnation. Basquiat showed us his fragility, he rose to fame perhaps too quickly and subsequently we lost another artist at way too young of age.That's life.
