About The Artwork

«The revival of the synagogue ...» 2018 God is Stradivarius. We are his violin children… This melodic picture is painted with acrylic on fiberboard. This color EMOTIONISM… This color SYNAGOGISM… Do you hear the melodies of these delicate colors? The old synagogue is being revived ... The Baltic Jewish community is gaining strength ... God's Blessings travel through the city and the souls of the people ... After the operation it hurts and is not very comfortable to paint on canvas. And I WANT to draw ... That's why I write a lot on cardboard and fiberboard ... I play the melody of love, joy and repentance on the violin of my heart in the old synagogue ... In this picture the tender colors of the Ukrainian sky and Ukrainian steppes merged into one (in color friendship) ... Colorful Friendship of Ukrainian songs and Jewish melodies ... On the violin of the field the Jewish heart plays God's hits of gratitude ... Synagogue like a crown on Balta's head . And the Baltic sky blossomed with hanukkiah! The birds of God's Melodies nest in the ears in the heart, in the soul… I'M GLAD to this ... I'm like a disc with songs ... My heart is like a disc with songs of God's JOY and God's REVIVAL ... I insert the disc of my heart into the player of Ukraine and melodies of repentance sound ... For many years I took part in the ILLUSTRATED TORAH project. I painted on parchment with acrylic ... I painted many chapters of Moses' Work! The illustration of the Torah gradually turned into a huge series on Jewish themes ... This painting was exhibited at my personal exhibition at the Balta Historical Museum in 2018 and 2019. The audience praised her energy, melody and skill. This painting was part of a series about the history and pain of the ghetto in Balta. Many unique paintings and texts (aphorisms, poems), written by my heart, opened this terrible page in the history of the Jews of the Ukrainian Podillia, Bessarabia and Transnistria ... This picture has several names: «The revival of the synagogue ...», «SYNAGOGISM» «Production of Eternal Memory» «The Violinist of the Balta faith» Most of the paintings in this series have been sold out and are in private collections, and will also be exhibited in the synagogue when it is finally renovated. In the Museum of the History of Jews in the Balta District. The painting is Dedicated to the Baltа and its Jews, scattered around the world !!! (Since the 18th century, the city's Jewish community has been predominantly Hasidic. There is reason to believe that the city was visited by Israel Baal Shem Tov (Besht), the founder of Hasidism.) The painting is dedicated to Ukrainian Jewry, Yiddish culture and Jewish shtetl towns! 100 years ago Balta was such a nice, Jewish town in the south of Ukraine. She gave many talented Jews to Ukraine, the world and Israel! Savran Hasidism also has its roots in this region. (Moshe Zvi Giterman of Savran (1775–1837) was the first Rebbe of Savran (Hasidic dynasty) and an influential Hasidic leader in western Ukraine, whose following numbered in the thousands. His father, Rabbi Shimon Shlomo (I), was the Maggid of Savran and a disciple of Dovber of Mezeritch, the primary disciple of the Baal Shem Tov, founder of Hasidic Judaism. Moshe Zvi was a disciple of his father, and also of Rabbi Levi Yitschok of Berditchev and Rabbi Boruch of Mezhbizh. After his father's death in 1802, Moshe Zvi took over his position as the Maggid of Savran. Moshe Zvi went on to become the Rabbi of Berditchev after the death of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev, and later became the Rabbi of the towns of Uman and Kishinev as well. He had thousands of chasidim in Volhynia and Bessarabia. Moshe Zvi's Torah insights were collected and printed in the book, Likutey Shoshanim. His son, Shimon Shlomo (II), succeeded him as Savraner Rebbe.) One of them was Aryeh Altman - politician, chairman of the New Zionist Organization created by the revisionist Zionists. He was a member of the Knesset from the Herut party. Palatnik Reiza Anatolyevna (1936, Balta, Ukraine - 1995, Israel) human rights activist. She lived in Odessa, in 1962-1970. worked as the head of the department of the Odessa city library. She was arrested in 1970 on charges of Zionist activities and sentenced to 2 years in prison. She immigrated to Israel in 1972. Even-Shmuel (Kofman) Yehuda (1887, Balta - 1976), philosopher, writer and teacher; commentator on the works of R. Moshe ben Maimona (Rambam, Maimonides). He was the first editor of the Hebrew Encyclopedia. And many others who have adorned this world with their souls and talents ... The Baltic Jewish community is the only one in the north of the Odessa region. and that is why it was in Balta Joint that the Hesed branch was created. The Baltic branch of "Khesed", like the Baltic Jewish community, oversees the Jews of Podilska, Savrani, Kodymy, Lyubashevka, since there are Jews there, but no communities have been created there. There used to be more than 20 synagogues and schools in the city of Balta, and there was even a Jewish hospital. Now there is only one synagogue left, which is called Savranska, and two cemeteries ... But LIFE CONTINUES !!! Especially Jewish life!) History is a witness and a teacher! History testifies to this and teaches this ... Those who follow my work have probably already noticed that I am not only working on the picture, but also on the description for it! My every description is a mini essay! Mini free verse! READ! LOOK! ENJOY! HAVE A GOOD MOOD! BLESSED DAY! Thank you for your attention! Sincerely yours and God's artist © Аndriy Vyklyk
