About The Artwork
The Inspiration for this piece came from a request to depict beauty from pain , a second rendering for a message given to a congregation at a local church. The rendering was completed as the message was given to illustrate that pain is sometimes a precursor or a product of beauty, as well as the sacrifice it sometimes takes to find that beauty much like fighting the thorns to grasp the rose. The image of the thorns being much larger than actual size is the perception of our pains and sufferings being much larger than the prize, yet the value is not measurable.

I am a Father of four children , married for 30 years and have worked for the USPS for 35 years. I originally planned to attend the Harris School of Art in Franklin TN in 1984 , but as it turned out I met a wonderful person and some plans changed, but my passion for creativity , painting and drawing never ceased. I have been commissioned for numerous jobs that range from oil portraits to Murals and in each I hope to bring to somebody something they had never seen before. I have since moved into photography and watercolors, but oils have my heart. I tend to focus on things with a soul but love landscape and now have become more expressionistic and even somewhat abstract.
