ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Smoked Portrait was painted to show you that a painting can have many ways to look at it, it can be equally mysterious as it can be exciting. The color contrast can really grab someone's attention and give that same feeling of excitement you get on the fourth of July. At the same time though at night The Smoked Portrait feels ominous and mysterious with dimmed lighting. When I painted it I felt a rush of excitement and had the same feeling you get when you look at the clear blue sky, see the bright dark green forest on that sunny day that you can't help but go outside and to enjoy the weather.
