About The Artwork

The Trifecta This is a triptych of three small paintings in which the canvases were all built, stretched, and primed at the same time hence the similarities of the color palettes. They all just a happen to have a head incorporated into the theme. This is a happy (?) accident. I liked seeing the two vertical ones together and when I finished the third horizontal piece, I realized that I loved seeing them as a set. Individually they are: TOP “ENOUGH!”, 16.51cm x 36.83cm (6.5" x 14.5"), Mixed Media (latex and acrylic paint on clothing and quilt fragments), 10/13/2021 - Greg Hausler Description at: https://www.instagram.com/p/CVHK0NDMP9m/ BOTTOM LEFT "What the Mystery Guest Left Behind", 24.13cm x 12.7cm (9.5 "x 5"), 5/13/2021, Mixed media painting (Clothing & quilt fragments, latex & acrylic paints, minivan car key), - Greg Hausler Description at: https://www.instagram.com/p/CPUdys-l6qw/ BOTTOM RIGHT "Where do dreams go when we are gone?", 24.13cm x 12.7cm (9.5 "x 5"), 3/14/2021, Mixed media painting (Clothing, latex & acrylic paints, safety pin), - Greg Hausler Description at: https://www.instagram.com/p/CMdt4G-lWGt/

Greg Hausler was born in New York but raised in Kansas where he graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting. During his time at college, he developed his signature technique of using articles of clothing and other textiles instead of linen canvas for his mixed-media abstract paintings. His non-traditional use of painting media is influenced by Marcel Duchamp and street artists while his painting technique draws inspiration from Jackson Pollock and Claude Monet resulting in a style of work that is uniquely his own.
