Sama is a Sufi ceremony performed as dhikr. Sama means "listening", while dhikr means "remembrance. These rituals often include singing, playing instruments, dancing, recitation of poetry and prayers, wearing symbolic attire, and other rituals. It is a particularly popular form of worship in Sufism. The Whirling Dervishes of the Mevlevi order are probably the best-known practitioners of Sama. Mevlevi practitioners of sema are adult initiates into the order, which historically only meant men. Participants move as a group in a circle while also turning each individually.

Ali Aliyev (Eminoglu) was born on the 1st of March 1965, in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. He studied at the Baku Universty of Fine Arts, after he graduated from Nakhchivan High School of Fine Arts. In 1994 he moved to Turkey and in 1998 he settled in İstanbul city. He has been painting for over 40 years. The artist's works have attracted the attention of many collectors. He has works in many collectors in UNESCO, The USA, France, England, Israel, Germany and Turkey. Ali Aliyev (Eminoglu) who is a member of UNESCO, currently resides with his wife and 2 kids in Istanbul and he continues to work in his atelier in Istanbul.
