Madrid 2018 Within the series - Contemplating the garden - this painting in small format, I conceive it as an intermediate point between the still life and the landscape, with reminiscences of a drawing that I do not renounce, since I consider it appropriate and necessary to show what I interpret from this matter. In this painting, you can see small drawing strokes that help to identify details of the lemon fruits, all in an atmosphere focusing on the lemons, a motif where color matters fundamentally. The license that I allow myself when interpreting what I see, is a cure of humility and not of pride, since trying to imitate the color of nature in any case is nothing more than audacity on my part, but due to my professional condition it is stronger the honest impulse to express publicly without shame what I feel when facing the work.
