About The Artwork

This painting speaks of the light that is in everyone’s life and that will come out after any episode of sadness. It is a reminder to be aware that all in temporary, that life is impermanence and your sadness is also temporary. It started with an abstract background and the colors guided me to this composition, depicting the light falling on the image of a person that found peace in the forest. The sides of the canvas are painted black and there is hanging hardware behind.

Suzanne is a signature member of the Institut des Arts figuratifs (IAF), the group Artists for Conservation (AFC), the Lakeshore Association of Artists (LAA) and an active member of the Canadian Federation of Artists. Born in Montreal, she now lives in Pointe-Claire, Québec. Since 2007, her life is dedicated to painting and writing about her work, creativity and life as an artist through two blogs (English and French). Suzanne creates images that force the viewer to stop and reflect on the accessible beauty, calm, wildness, and especially the therapeutic quality of nature and hope. For the last two years, her art has evolved towards abstraction while retaining figurative elements. The latest series depicts contemporary forests, trees and natural elements in a semi-representative way. This semi-abstract style gives her the opportunity to paint in a freer, bolder way while preserving the detailed work she enjoys. Her favourite subject being nature, this oil painter also uses acrylic and modeling paste, especially in her contemporary forests.
