About The Artwork
I painted Thelma because of the incredible colours the stage lighting created on her and her costume. I painted her because her personality is larger than life. I painted her to heal my soul after a nasty divorce. I painted her to see if I could still do it. I painted her because I love it and had huge emotions about the image and the photographer Keith Rein said I could use his photograph. I painted her to see if I could still draw. I painted the whole painting with love, for her, the show and the dance.
