Barry Patterson was born in Widnes, UK. He completed an Arts Foundation course at Chester College of Further Education and went on to graduate from De Montfort University with a degree in Illustration before moving to London then St Albans where he currently lives. The paintings he produces explore a sense of mood and atmosphere and the subtle shifts between abstraction and realism. His recent works have let go of figurative representation to consider a more emotional response to landscape evoking memories of place and time.
