ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My art takes much inspiration from the pop art movement, including using popular culture figures and icons as subjects. I am a huge fan of Star Wars, the way it has dominated popular culture for the last 40 years, and how it continues to regenerate and engage with younger audiences. This was a study principally looking at metal and depth and I experimented on this painting, trying new things and approaches. This is a stretched canvas, needs wire adding to hang.
