Tiger emerges from the dark Print

The year of the tiger has caused me to embark on a journey to paint 100 tigers. This is tiger no.4 that I have done so far, and the first one for this year. I am actually amazed that a painting could look so 'spoko' (polish which means cool in english). So this is my favourite so far. But then again, I like all my tiger paintings because they reflect my journey - a basic learner, and not an intermediate basic learner since I don't think I have grasp entirely the tiger form, not just yet. Learning and painting is a journey, after all, and one never really truly arrives. I hope viewers will protect our tigers even more. We're losing them one by one - to people who like to eat them, to people who like to turn them into house decorations, to hunters. And of course, they also die of natural causes which we cannot do anything about. I chose acrylic because...just because...
