This artwork in wax is a play of black, white, and of transparency. Wax on paper is transparent. Some of the silhouettes here as well. Women and men, maybe businessmen, are on the move. One man in white walks upside down through the artwork. The figures, areas are partially filled with oil or black bitumen. The work shows an interplay of lines and areas, black and white, hard and soft, rough and smooth surfaces, accuracy and inaccuracy, and of the orientation. The title of the artwork is "Townspeople". It is signed and dated in pencil on the reverse.
