About The Artwork
The work was inspired by midcentury modern art, and also loosely inspired by art of native and tribal cultures. I want the viewers to get a sense of tribal culture, as well as a sense of modernity, much in the way the Indian Space Painters (possibly) approached their art. I chose the medium (acrylic on linen) because it allowed for a certain textural application of the paint.
