"Underneath the fear" The event that inspired me to paint the painting: It happened just before the dawn. It was dark. I went down to the beach, where seawaves were lying down on the sandy shore I was scared, I was alone I spotted a lighthouse afar off I started to run towards it along the shore. I felt joy and excitement at the thought of running towards the light However the road to the lighthouse was long, and I had just got tired. I stopped running and the fear came again. I was standing alone, in the middle of the beach, where there was no way out. A cliff behind my back, the sea in front of my eyes. It was loud, it was dark, and I started to feel disturbing presence. I was looking around uneasily, but there were only waves, the noise and me… and this presence. The fear was growing. I had understood, that this presence was not a man, as it was sort of around me. I had finally understood, that those were not flights of imagination, and that I had felt it many times in my life. This time I decided to do differently. I closed my eyes. I let myself feel, instead of running away. The fear was rapidly thriving, almost descending to the feeling of panic. There were more and more peculiar visions in my head, as if something terrible was to happen to me. I was watching all this, trusting what I was truly feeling in my heart. And there was silence. And there came peace after a while. And when I opened my eyes again, Underneath the chill, darkness and noise I spotted something specific. I saw myself. And I did not feel the need to run to the lighthouse. This experience has let me understand that my life is not about building a sense of safety, but taking steps consistent with the true direction, where most frequently greets you fear. But right underneath it there is the truth that I want to see.
