Nashville's Union Station Hotel is a former railroad terminal designed by the chief engineer of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, and built in 1900 to serve the passengers of the eight railroads that provided passenger service to Nashville, Tennessee, at the time. This iconic Nashville building ceased train operations in 1979, and lay abandoned until it opened as a hotel in 1986. Union Station Hotel is a Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel and it became a member of Historic Hotels of America in 2015. The Hotel's grounds and interior is used for a variety of events benefiting downtown Nashville, including music events and weddings!
