ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Memories and emotions are usually the inspiration to for my work. It appears I may have been recalling a woodland perhaps. I was fascinated to find that most people whom viewed it on Instagram felt it was a forest. I hope for every viewer to see and feel whatever their subconscious decides. I've used oil paint along with some glazes. Combined applications with brush and pallet knife. This piece is ready to hang in a black, glass fronted wooden frame. I've included an image of the piece hanging within a group as a suggested option of how to place smaller works. Collectively the group create an impact and a statement wall of art.

I believe that art is not only seen, but is a felt experience, as does my greatest influence Howard Hodgkin. This is the realm I choose to work in; aiming to represent or re-create a moment, an emotion using paint as a dialogue.The souls complexity is the reason I choose not to title work in a sense that would give a guide to each derived source. I feel this would throw the viewer into an intellectual process, or even worse confine each piece to boundaries. I hope to evoke a response based on emotion not intellect, for each viewer to be moved on any level. If I can create a space for this and paint a moment, then I am achieving my goal. Though like all artists, I shall strive continuously for the perfect piece.
