About The Artwork
"Up" - metal sheet on a wooden stretcher, acrylic, 96x96×4cm, which is quite natural for me, because by education I am a mechanical engineer specializing in "Equipment for metal pressure processing", and I love cold-rolled steel with all my heart! The most difficult thing in this work was to quickly bring it to life, because most of the ideas remain in the status of eternal "someday-must-do". The plot of the work, apples - as a symbol of fertility, and at the same time, apples, as a theme of discord, are supported by the lower leaf of the apple tree, on which the apple moth is located, a cute caterpillar, striving upward towards a dream, eating fruits, it wraps itself in a silk cocoon and in spring turns into a butterfly. If he refers to this with humor, then the moth is a kind of self-portrait, and I really love apples. Pull the metal sheet by hand on a wooden frame, secured with nails. The work took part in the exhibition dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine in the Exhibition Hall of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Product weight 11, 5 pound (5,2 kg)

Welcome! I am Elena Ermolenko was born in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. Has been selected as an Associate Artist of English Unison Color Pastels since 2020. I am honored to present the highest quality pastels and to be a member of the Unison team, you can also read information about me on the official Unison Color website! From 2018-2020, 3 books with my graphic illustrations were published. I have an incredible need to paint, my inspiration is people and nature! Now it is interesting to paint a portrait of a person, as well as landscapes of nature, both abstract and real, but everything is based on wildlife. Drawing is my life! I mainly work with graphic materials, pastels, charcoal, pencil and watercolors, in order to feel direct contact with my hands and convey images through the materials. I am a member of the IWS At the moment I also take an active part in international competitions and exhibitions. At the same time, I work both in traditional techniques, such as watercolor and pastel, and in experimental ones. I use non-traditional materials, paint on metal sheets, plywood, trying various textures and soils.
