About The Artwork

The USS Sacramento was the first ship to be named in honor of a California city. She was commissioned in 1863, and served during the American Civil War as a blockade ship. During this time she intercepted the British blockade runner "Wonderer," which this painting depicts. She was grounded and wrecked in 1866.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Most of my artwork revolves around military and particularly naval subjects. This is mainly owed to my experiences during twelve years in the U.S. Navy, ten of that at sea. I enjoy painting historical subjects as well as from my own personal experiences at sea. I also enjoy portraiture and depicting people. My biggest influences are marine artists of the Dutch Renaissance, such as Van de Velde, and Romantic Period artists such as Turner.
