The biography of this ship is vividly presented on the network, I will mention only a few important milestones in its history. USS Texas (BB-35) is a museum ship and a former US Navy New York-class battleship. Launched on May 18, 1912 and entered into service on March 12, 1914. Texas was the first US battleship to become a permanent museum ship, although the USS Alabama Museum opened on January 9, 1965. In 1976, she became the first battleship to be designated a US National Historic Landmark and the only surviving World War I dreadnought battleship. She is also one of eight remaining ships, and the only remaining large ship, to have fought in both world wars. Texas belongs to the people of Texas and is officially under the jurisdiction of the state. Since August 2020, the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Texas has been handled by the non-profit organization Battleship Texas Foundation - a million-dollar renovation project. As of August 2023, repairs are ongoing. The canvas is a continuation of the MUSEUM SHIPS series. In the picture of the handsome man, Texas is depicted in dry dock.
