About The Artwork
Monochromatic piece inspired by the so called "Venus" figurines of the paleolithic era. I was studying a book about prehistoric art and there were several pages devoted to these stone figurines that were fairly common in the stone age communities of Europe. Most of the figurines present the female figure as one of great abundance. The piece is painted on cardboard--actually a cardboard box that was unfolded and mounted on 1/4 inch luan.
