I use classical way of painting to make a topic more digestible for the audience but at the same time I try to confuse them. I combine the aesthetic of pornography and the classical painting in sense of contrast. I use the aesthetic and art traditions which are commonly respected to convey the values and criticism which are against the dominating discourse. I'm very interested in social effect of art. I believe that art can be an important part of the discussion about modern-day political and social issues. At the same time I confront myself with old tabus and deep rooted prejudice and shame. As a person brought up in a Polish, highly conservative family, I internalize the catholic values and an aversion to certain sexual behaviours and ultimately also to myself. Through my work I try to free body and sex from religious matrix. On one hand I work with depictions of religious scenes and combine them with what is excluded and on other hand I use abstraction to develope more distanced approach to body and sex. I'm trying to redefine them and create a new narration.
