Volume Profit Analysis Print

I did this painting while I was having a break from studying a business finance course, hence the ‘Volume Profit Analysis’ text which displays boldly at the top of the painting. You can see this monkey come mermaid character holding up and eye which is definitely focused on the money! There is an array of patterns such as the familiar arrows and ellipses that often frequent my paintings. In the lower right hand corner you can see text which are the lyrics to a Bjork song which reads “I miss you but I haven’t met you yet”. I love this oxymoron because it’s indicative of human spirit. It’s a contradictory statement yet foretells you the loneliness of a relationship that’s yet to happen. In the lower left hand corner you can see some doodles that I draw. They are largely the result of drawing with my kids every night, they are cute but that’s the child’s world they live in and it’s a joy to share it. The colours too are quite bright and perky, I must have been in a good mood that afternoon. If I ever received a good mark in my studies, my wife would ask me “Is that school ok?” and if my kids received a mark like 98 or 99, she would say to them “Which one did you get wrong?”
