About The Artwork
I am inspired by the Light and Space California artist: Peter Lodato. I want to create the glow of a Brillinat-cut diamond in 2 dimensions and with paint. The Brilliant-cut was designed in 1918 by Marcel Tolkowsky in England. It is 58 facets and provides the highest level of brilliance (light), fire (prism color) and luster (surface reflection). My grandfather, Archibald Picking, was a diamantaire (diamond cutter) before becoming a conductor for Pacific Electric Red Cars. This canvas is recycled fitting into the Ecocentric movement.
