About The Artwork
Water and Blood - an original painting acrylic on wood panel, done as one of the illustrations for the Come with Me Creative Bible study kit. The artwork depicts Jesus on the Cross as witnessed by St. John in John 19:34 “But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.” For the prayer card version (available in my Open Journey Shop at www.openjourney.faith - https://www.etsy.com/listing/1179475141/water-and-blood ), the back has this prophetic verse of Christ's passion and the "fountain" of Mercy from Zechariah 12:10; 13:1: “Then I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.” The artwork is signed on the front and back. Ready to hang!

I am a visual artist, living and working in Lansing, Michigan, US Drawing is my primary medium, although I often incorporate in my work a wider variety of mediums and techniques: encaustic painting, printmaking, digital illustration and painting, photography and alternative photography, metal/wood and fabric. Constantly experimenting with new techniques, my work expands and acquires new dimensions. Byzantine painting, christian philosophy and the work of philosopher and historian of religions, Mircea Eliade, deeply influence my work. As a subject matter, the human dimension defines my interest and represents the main inspiration source. My travels around the country and also visiting back with my home country (Romania) offers me a great source of inspiration, as well as my everyday experiences and interactions with people. I focus on subtle generalities, common intimacies, and general valid truths, as: love, longing, death, hope– which will never become over-used subjects, because they are eternally embedded in human nature and we will always identify with them.
