About The Artwork

I was inspired by my many safaris while I lived in Kenya. It is really hard to spot a leopard, it can take hours or days. This female leopard was chilling in a tree gazing at the sunset. I hope the viewer will feel the love I did for her and the freedom she inspires. I chose the warm tones of blue and fascia to reflect her mood and emotion.

I was born in Lausanne, Switzerland and began my art career without permission at the age of 2, using my mother's lipsticks to paint all the walls of the apartment. Art was a passion since, with some training but mostly self-taught. I've worked as an international human rights activist for 20 years, traveling extensively (always a sketchbook and colours in my bag). I fell Iove with East Africa, settling there 12 years, where I began painting murals in her Uganda home, and then for embassies, hotels & private homes in Kenya & Zanzibar. l love exploring spiritual connections through powerful subjects, wildlife, divinity, using symbolism, design, strong colors often with gold, for its ethereal magic, evoking a myriad of emotions. I established a banana tree paper making enterprise, Kahesa Paper, in Kenya to employ the intellectually challenged, and later in Zanzibar, Kahesa Zanzibar, to provide art therapy for children with Down syndrome & autism. I have exhibited her paintings in various high end venues in Lausanne, and takes commissions (paintings & murals). My most popular paintings are often available in limited edition fine prints.
